The hand is one of the most complex parts of the body, with over 27 bones and a wide range of movements in every plane. Cyclists' hands are also placed on the front edge of the bike, where they absorb shock and vibration and bear the weight of wind and cold. Cold hands can impair shifting and overall comfort, cause debilitating numbness, and lead to a poor driving experience. Shimano takes the control interface between cyclist and bike very seriously. And, just as we design our shift controls based on the complex ergonomics of the hand, we do the same in the design of Shimano Fusion Concept gloves. For 2018, we updated our advanced 3 D shape to better fit the natural curve of the human hand.
